Telegram is home to thousands of investment communities—some real, many deceptive. In 2025, a group of scammers posed as crypto market experts, charging users for access to “guaranteed” trading signals and automated bots.
Mary, a 29-year-old investor, paid 0.8 BTC to join the “VIP Trading Zone.” After payment, the group vanished—admins deleted the channel and blocked all members.
Searching Google and Bing, Mary found Cyanosoft.com and submitted a detailed complaint.
Cyanosoft launched a deep investigation. They identified:
The group’s crypto deposit address
Linked IP addresses
Telegram usernames reused across multiple scam groups
Connected stolen funds distributed across exchanges
Using blockchain intelligence tools, Cyanosoft traced Mary’s BTC to a European exchange. They compiled a complete fraud analysis report and worked with the exchange’s compliance unit. Multiple accounts connected to the scam ring were frozen.
Within three weeks, Mary recovered over 70% of her stolen BTC.
This case helped Cyanosoft expose a larger network responsible for scamming more than 200 victims.
