In June 2024 the FCA warned about a website calling itself Infinox. It carried a real FCA number, a real Companies House number and a real London address. Every one of them belonged to someone else.
What the FCA said
The notice is titled Infinox Capital Ltd (clone of FCA authorised firm) and names one website: primeinfinox.co.uk. The FCA’s wording is blunt — fraudsters “copy the details of firms we authorise to try and convince people that their firm is genuine”.
This was not a warning about Infinox. It was a warning about something wearing Infinox as a costume. Infinox Capital Limited is authorised under reference 501057 — we opened the register on 12 September 2026 and the entry reads Authorised, since 15/09/2009. If you hold an account with the real firm, nothing here concerns it.
The footer copied everything
The Internet Archive captured primeinfinox.co.uk twice. The 2 August 2024 capture carried this footer:
“Infinox Capital Ltd (‘INFINOX’) is registered and located in the United Kingdom at Birchin Court, 20 Birchin Lane, London, EC3V 9DU … under company number 06854853 and is authorised and regulated by The Financial Conduct Authority under registration number 501057.”
We checked each element. 501057 belongs to Infinox Capital Limited on the FCA register. 06854853 belongs to INFINOX CAPITAL LIMITED at Companies House, incorporated 21 March 2009. Birchin Court is the address the FCA itself lists for the genuine firm on that same notice.
There is no error to catch. Anyone doing the thing everyone is told to do — take the FCA number off the site and look it up — would have found a genuine authorised firm, and been reassured by the exact fact that should have alarmed them.
The check that would have worked
Only one detail on that page was false, and it was not in the footer. It was the address bar.
Every FCA register entry carries a Website field alongside the firm’s address, phone and email. We opened the entry for 501057. It reads:

- Address: 90 Bartholomew Close, London EC1A 7BN
The register states on the page that these details “have been confirmed as correct”, and that firms must re-confirm them annually. primeinfinox.co.uk is not there.
So the question is not “does this number exist”. It is “does this number belong to this website“. The first is trivially passed by any competent forgery. The second cannot be forged at all, because the answer sits on the regulator’s server rather than the broker’s — the same test that undoes the cases we documented when eight FCA notices named fake XTBs.
The date that gave it away
At the bottom of the archived page sat a line the forger did not think about: “© 2015 Powered and secured by Infinox Global”. The Archive’s first capture of primeinfinox.co.uk is dated 15 April 2024. A domain cannot hold a 2015 copyright if it did not exist until 2024.
It is the same tell we found on a fake Pepperstone with six phone numbers and a mistyped postcode: the stolen parts are flawless, the invented parts careless.
Four months, then gone
The two captures are 15 April and 2 August 2024. The FCA warning falls between them. After August, the crawlers found nothing.
We checked the domain on 12 September 2026. primeinfinox.co.uk has no DNS record of any kind. The genuine infinox.co.uk and infinox.com both resolve normally.

- The clone’s footer reproduced the genuine firm’s FCA number, company number and address exactly.

Our verdict
A clone is the hardest fraud to spot, because the parts you are told to verify are the parts it gets right. Checking them confirms the wrong thing.
The check that works takes the same thirty seconds: open the FCA register, find the firm, read the Website, Email and Phone fields on the entry itself, then compare them to the site you are on and the address that contacted you. If the domain is not there, stop — whatever the footer says. And treat a contact that arrives first as the warning it usually is: authorised UK brokers do not cold-call.
