Eight FCA Warnings Name Fake XTBs. One Copied the HQ

If someone calling themselves XTB has contacted you, check which one. The Financial Conduct Authority has published eight separate warnings about firms using that name — six of them clone warnings. One of them copied the real company’s Warsaw head office address. Another used its original legal name.

A correction, and why it matters

An earlier version of this page treated XTB itself as the problem. That was wrong, and we have rewritten it.

XTB Limited is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm reference number 522157, registered in London E14 5AA. It is a real, supervised, publicly listed broker. Nothing in this article is a criticism of it. It is the victim here.

The reason the confusion is easy to fall into is the same reason clone fraud works: when you search a name and find a regulated firm, you feel reassured. That reassurance is the weapon.

Eight warnings, one name

Six of the notices are clone warnings, each a separate publication: XTB GROUP, XTB Trading World, XTB Limited, XTB Global, XTB Coin Trading and XTB-USDT.

Two more are plain unauthorised-firm warnings — a different category, meaning the firm is not authorised rather than that it is impersonating someone: XTB Online (26 June 2025) and xtbmarkettrade.live (13 August 2025). Eight notices in total.

A clone warning means something specific: “This firm is not authorised by us but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm.” Deal with any of them and you have no access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and no cover from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The detail that shows how deliberate this is

Two of the notices are worth reading closely.

The notice for XTB Limited (clone), first published 13 August 2024 and updated as recently as 10 February 2026, records an address: Prosta 67, 00-838, Warszawa, Poland. That is the genuine company’s own head office. The clone did not invent a plausible address — it copied the real one, so that anyone who checked the address against XTB’s published details would find a match. Its website was xtbtrading.org.

The notice for XTB GROUP (clone), first published 15 March 2021 and updated 26 June 2025, goes further. Among its four listed websites is x-tradebrokers.com. X-Trade Brokers is XTB’s original legal name. Whoever registered that domain knew the company’s corporate history, not just its logo.

The same notice lists a telephone number, +44 7350 734073 — a UK mobile — and emails at office@xtb-groups.io and support@x-tradebrokers.com. Four websites, one operation: xtb-groups.io, x-tradebrokers.com, xtbe.org and a booking page on stationone-ia.com.

Where those domains are now

We checked all five on 11 September 2026. xtbtrading.org, xtb-groups.io, xtbe.org and stationone-ia.com return no DNS record at all. x-tradebrokers.com still has DNS records but did not serve a page when we loaded it.

Note the dates on the notices, though. The XTB GROUP warning was first published in 2021 and was still being updated in June 2025. The XTB Limited clone warning was updated in February 2026. These are not one-off incidents from years ago; they are a running problem, and the FCA keeps amending the notices because the details keep changing.

How to check properly, in two minutes

• Look up the firm reference number yourself on the FCA register at register.fca.org.uk. XTB Limited is 522157. Do not use a number or link the caller sent you — clones supply their own.
• Call the number on the register, not the one in the email. If the person you spoke to is genuine, that number reaches them.
• Read the domain character by character. The real firm is at xtb.com. xtbtrading.org, xtb-groups.io, xtbe.org and x-tradebrokers.com are not it.
• Treat a matching address as meaningless. This case proves why: the clone used the genuine Warsaw office.

Our verdict

Eight notices under one name, six of them clones, is not opportunism — it is a production line — and the operators behind it have done their homework. They took the head office address. They took the old company name. Both of those details exist to survive exactly the check a careful person performs.

So perform a better one. Confirming that XTB exists and is regulated tells you nothing about whether the person emailing you is XTB. Only the firm reference number, looked up by you on the register, and a call to the number the register lists, can answer that.

If you were contacted by “XTB” and the website was anything other than xtb.com, you were not talking to the authorised firm. If you have already sent money, tell your bank today and report it to Action Fraud — the sooner a transfer is flagged, the more chance there is of stopping it. The same pattern runs through operations that borrow a prestigious London address and through those that keep a spare domain running after the first is burned.
