AlgoTrader — It Shares Your Financial Information

AlgoTrader Google Play listing flagged by CYANOSOFT

Verdict up front: AlgoTrader connects to your Binance, Gate.io or Kraken Pro account and trades it for you. Its Google Play data declaration states that the app shares Financial info with third parties. The same developer’s only other products on Google Play are a radio app, a notes app, and one called Which Bin Day.

AlgoTrader — Trading Bot is published by Next Level Developments. On the day we checked it showed 3.9 stars from 83 reviews and 50,000+ downloads, with in-app purchases, filed under Business, last updated 24 July 2026.

The line in the Data safety panel

Google requires every developer to declare what their app does with user data. Most apps in this category declare nothing at all — the familiar and implausible “no data collected”. This one is different, and more alarming for being honest:

From the Data safety panel

“This app may share these data types with third parties: Financial info and Device or other IDs.”

Financial info, shared with third parties, by an app that holds the keys to your exchange account.

The panel does not say which third parties, or what they receive. It does not have to. But a user weighing whether to connect a trading account should read that sentence before any of the marketing above it.

What it asks for

From the store listing

“Effortless Automation – Connect to your Binance, Binance.us, Binance TestNet, Gate.io, or Kraken Pro account and let our intelligent algorithms handle trades 24/7… Multi-Pair Trading – Trade up to 10 pairs… Clear Profit Tracking – empowering confident, profitable decisions.”

To do that it needs an API key with trading permission on each exchange. That key cannot withdraw funds — but it can open and close positions across ten pairs, continuously, with no further consent from you.

To the app’s credit, it does offer a genuine safety valve the others in this batch do not: Binance’s public TestNet, where the same setup can be run with no real money. That option is real, and anyone who uses this app should stay on it.

The developer

Next Level Developments’ catalogue on Google Play consists of AlgoTrader, Pacenote, Which Bin Day and BassDrive Radio.

That is not an accusation of dishonesty — small developers build varied things. It is a statement about scale. There is no company address on the listing, no team, no regulator, and no named person accountable for an algorithm running trades on fifty thousand phones.

When a bin reminder goes wrong, you take the bins out yourself. When this goes wrong, the question is who is answerable for the account.

Profitable decisions, and a Business category

The listing describes “data-driven strategies”, “winning strategies” identified by live backtesting, and profit tracking that empowers “confident, profitable decisions”. It offers “Stablecoin Conversion for Security” — converting to USDT in volatile markets, which is a strategy, not a safety feature.

Backtests are worth naming plainly: a strategy selected because it performed well on past data is selected by that data. It tells you which rule would have won yesterday, which is not the same as which rule will win tomorrow. An app that ranks strategies by backtest and calls the top one “winning” is describing a fitted curve.

The app is filed under Business, not Finance. One reviewer, endorsed by eleven people, reports being unable to move between screens for advertisements.

What to check before you connect an exchange

  • Read the Data safety panel first, not the features. “Shares Financial info with third parties” is the developer’s own declaration to Google.
  • Use TestNet or paper mode for at least a month. If a bot only works with real money, that is the answer.
  • Create a dedicated API key, trading-only, IP-restricted, and revoke it the day you stop using the app.
  • A backtested “winning strategy” is a description of the past. Ask for forward-tested results with dates.
