The footer names a Dublin headquarters plus New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, Paris and São Paulo, with phone numbers in the US, UK and Australia. FINMA’s warning, by contrast, records the firm at Rte de Lausanne 10, 1400 Yverdon-les-Bains in Switzerland.

Under the heading “Prime Brokerage & Global Reach — recognised across leading exchanges and international financial media”, the site shows a strip of names: the London and Luxembourg stock exchanges, S&P, Reuters, Bloomberg, Forbes, CNBC and more. Listing exchange and newspaper names next to your own logo does not make you a member of an exchange or mean you have been covered by the press. The page also tells visitors that its approach means “your capital is protected across market cycles”.

Search the name on FINMA’s warning list and on FINMA’s register of authorised institutions at finma.ch. A firm that FINMA actually supervises appears in the register, not the warning list. For German firms, check the BaFin company database. Look up when the website’s domain was registered, and never transfer money to an account a “consultant” gives you by phone.
Our view: Balfour Capital Group borrows the look of a global wealth manager, and Switzerland’s regulator warns against it. Check any adviser on the official registers before investing.
