Al Mawarid Equity — A Phone Number That Is A Word

Verdict up front: A website at almawaridequitysdn.my trades as
“Al Mawarid Equity Sdn Bhd” and offers securities, insurance, Islamic
musharakah financing, lending, real estate and agriculture investment. The Securities
Commission Malaysia
lists it on its Investor Alert List as a potential clone
entity
— that is, a site using a real company’s name. Where its contact
details should carry a telephone number, the site prints “+60 ALMAWARID900”.

A phone number that cannot be dialled

The footer gives an address in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, an email address on its own domain, and then,
in the place a telephone number belongs, the string “+60 ALMAWARID900”.
That is not a number. Vanity spellings work in North America, where letters map to keypad digits and
the result is still dialable. +60 is Malaysia’s country code, and no Malaysian
number looks like that. A firm inviting strangers to hand over capital has given them no working way
to telephone it.

Nine licensed businesses and no licence

The navigation offers securities, insurance,
musharakah, small-business lending, commercial and
marine finance, real estate and agriculture
investment. In Malaysia, dealing in securities and fund management are licensed by the
Securities Commission; insurance and lending are supervised by
Bank Negara Malaysia. Each of those is a separate licence. The site claims the
activities and shows no licence for any of them.

The missing number that matters most

Every company incorporated in Malaysia has a registration number from the
Companies Commission of Malaysia, and a company that puts
“Sdn Bhd” in its name has one. That number is what lets anyone check the
company actually exists, who its directors are, and when it was incorporated. It appears nowhere on
this site — not in the footer, not on the company page, not on the contact page. Without it, the
name “Al Mawarid Equity Sdn Bhd” cannot be checked against anything.

⚠ Verified evidence — checked 24 September 2026

  • The site is on the Securities Commission Malaysia Investor Alert List, recorded as a potential clone entity.
  • Its contact details give “+60 ALMAWARID900” in place of a telephone number.
  • It advertises securities, insurance, musharakah financing, lending, real estate, marine and agriculture investment.
  • It shows no company registration number on any page.
  • The site is a set of flat pages — a brochure, with no trading or account system behind it.
  • It describes itself as an “Institutional Investment Framework” that is “Built on Structure. Driven by Intelligence.”

How to check a Malaysian investment firm

Search the name on the Securities Commission’s Investor Alert List at
sc.com.my, then look for it on the SC’s list of licensed intermediaries — a genuine firm
appears on the licensed register, not the alert list. Take the company registration number and look it
up on the SSM register. If a site selling investments will not give you a registration
number and a telephone number that connects, you have learned everything you need to know.

Our view: a site using a real company’s name, selling nine licensed financial
activities without a licence, showing no registration number, and printing a word where its phone
number should be. Do not send money.
