Verdict up front: jib-mal.com trades as
“Johor Investment Berhad” and says it manages endowments, pension funds
and surplus cash for governments, corporates and pension funds. It says it was
incorporated on 4 January 2006 under the “Malaysia Commercial Company
Law” and licensed by the “Malaysia Central Bank”. There is
no such law, that is not what Malaysia’s central bank licenses, and the domain was registered on
18 June 2026.

One sentence, three impossible claims
The About page says the firm was “incorporated as a Malaysia Shareholding Company under
the Malaysia Commercial Company Law, on 4th January 2006, and licensed by Malaysia Central Bank”.
Take it apart. Malaysian companies are incorporated under the Companies Act 2016 and
registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia; there is no
“Malaysia Commercial Company Law” and no company form called a
“Shareholding Company”. Those are Gulf terms —
“Commercial Companies Law” and “joint stock company” belong to the company
codes of the Arabian peninsula. The page was written for somewhere else and the country name was
swapped in.
The wrong regulator
Bank Negara Malaysia, the central bank, licenses banks, insurers and money
services. It does not license asset managers or investment advisers — that is the
Securities Commission, which is the body that has put this site on its
Investor Alert List. A firm that genuinely held a Malaysian fund-management licence
would name the right regulator, because it would have applied to it.
Twenty years of history on a three-month-old domain
The registration record for jib-mal.com shows it was created on
18 June 2026 through the registrar NameSilo, with a one-year term. A firm operating
since January 2006 would have two decades of web history; this one has three months. The site also
claims a head office in Johor Bahru with affiliates in the Middle East
— while the photograph behind that claim on its own home page is a New York City skyline. Its nameservers are ds1.nairahost.ng and
ds2.nairahost.ng, a shared hosting provider in Nigeria.
⚠ Verified evidence — checked 24 September 2026
- The About page cites the “Malaysia Commercial Company Law”, which does not exist. Malaysian companies are incorporated under the Companies Act 2016.
- It claims to be licensed by the central bank; asset management in Malaysia is licensed by the Securities Commission.
- It claims incorporation on 4 January 2006. The domain was registered on 18 June 2026.
- The home page’s hero photograph is a New York City skyline, not Johor Bahru.
- Nameservers are ds1.nairahost.ng and ds2.nairahost.ng — a Nigerian host, for a claimed Johor Bahru head office.
- It says it advises governments, government-related entities, pension funds, family offices and high-net-worth individuals on equity and debt capital markets and mergers.
- It is on the Securities Commission Malaysia Investor Alert List.
How to check a firm that claims a Malaysian licence
Ask which regulator, and then check that regulator’s own register. Fund management and
investment advice appear on the Securities Commission’s list of licensed
intermediaries at sc.com.my; banks and insurers appear on Bank Negara Malaysia’s
list of licensed institutions. Look up the company registration number on the SSM
register, and check when the website’s domain was registered. A twenty-year-old institution does
not have a three-month-old domain.
Our view: the firm’s own history is written under a law that does not exist,
credited to a regulator that does not license the work, on a domain three months old, served from
Nigeria. Do not send money.
