Verdict up front: Bitcoin Miner BTC Cloud Mining advertises itself with the line “CLOUD MINING, REAL REWARDS” and tells users to mine Bitcoin and grow wealth. Its own description states that no real cryptocurrency is involved. Google Play files it under Finance, and it sells in-app purchases.

App: Bitcoin Miner BTC Cloud Mining · Package: com.hemant.btccloudminer · Developer: Rajshree Jain · Installs: 10,000+ · Rating: 3.0 from 1,270 reviews · Category: Finance — with ads and in-app purchases
The banner and the description contradict each other
The feature graphic is unambiguous: BTC MINER — CLOUD MINING, REAL REWARDS, with “Mine Bitcoin. Earn rewards. Grow wealth.” and badges reading TRUSTED & RELIABLE and GLOBAL MINING NETWORK.
The description, further down where fewer people read, says the opposite: “BTC Cloud Miner is a realistic mining simulator… This app is designed purely for learning, simulation, and entertainment. No expensive mining rigs, no technical setup, and no real cryptocurrency involved.” Both statements are on the same store page.
Filed under Finance, with money going one way
A simulator belongs in Education or Entertainment. This one is in Finance, the category a person browses when they are looking to do something with real money, and it carries advertising and in-app purchases.
So the arrangement is: the marketing promises real Bitcoin rewards, the small print says the Bitcoin is not real, the category puts it in front of people looking for genuine financial products, and the only money that definitely moves is the money leaving the user through purchases and ad revenue.
⚠ Verified evidence — checked 24 September 2026
- The store banner claims “CLOUD MINING, REAL REWARDS” and “Mine Bitcoin. Earn rewards. Grow wealth.”
- The description states it is a simulator for “learning, simulation, and entertainment” with “no real cryptocurrency involved”.
- Google Play files it under Finance, not Education or Entertainment.
- It carries advertising and in-app purchases.
- It holds 3.0 stars from 1,270 reviews on 10,000+ installs.
- Screenshots display a hash rate, a BTC balance and a rising earnings chart that correspond to nothing real.
The screenshots keep the illusion going
The in-app images show a mining power dashboard, a hash-rate readout of 434.08 GH/s, a balance of 0.00014567 BTC and an earnings chart climbing steadily. They are designed to look like a live mining operation with a real balance accruing.
Users have noticed. The app holds 3.0 stars from 1,270 reviews — a poor score, and the single most reliable thing on the page, because it is the only figure the developer cannot write.
How to tell a simulator from a service
Search the store description for the words simulation, simulator, virtual and entertainment. Developers include them because the store requires it, and they are usually the only honest sentence on the page.
Then ask what real mining would require. Genuine cloud mining means a contract with a named operator, a stated hash rate, a price and a hardware facility that exists. An app that offers hash power for a tap and a purchase is selling the feeling of mining, not the output of it.
Our view: An app that promises real Bitcoin rewards on its banner and admits in its description that no real cryptocurrency is involved, filed under Finance and selling in-app purchases. Do not spend money inside it and do not treat its balance as an asset.
