SpeedBot — Algo Trading, Untouched Since 2025

Verdict up front: SpeedBot offers algorithmic trading to people who say they lack the skill or time to trade themselves, including a wallet users can recharge. It has 50,000+ installs, rates 3.1, and has not been updated since February 2025 — nineteen months of live markets with no maintenance.

Nineteen months is a long time in software that trades

The listing was last updated on 27 February 2025. Since then Android has moved on, broker APIs have changed, and market conditions have turned over several times.

For most apps staleness is an inconvenience. For software that places orders against a live balance it is a risk of a different order: an unmaintained strategy keeps executing on assumptions nobody has revisited, and an unmaintained integration can fail in the middle of a position. A wallet feature inside a product nobody has patched for nineteen months is worse again.

Who it is aimed at

The description is explicit about its audience: “many people, like you, desire to invest but lack the necessary skills, and time, or even fear market volatility”, and the answer offered is to “follow other Robo-advisors — also known as algorithmic traders — who are already pro”.

That is copy trading, sold to the least experienced end of the market. Copying a stranger’s trades is not a way around inexperience; it transfers the risk without transferring any understanding of it, and the follower carries the losses in full.

⚠ Verified evidence — checked 24 September 2026

  • The app was last updated on 27 February 2025 — nineteen months before publication.
  • It has 50,000+ installs and holds 3.1 stars from 139 reviews.
  • It targets users who “lack the necessary skills, and time, or even fear market volatility” and offers copy trading from “Robo-advisors”.
  • It includes a wallet users recharge inside an unmaintained app.
  • No company, jurisdiction, regulator or verified strategy performance is published in the listing.

The word robo-advisor is doing heavy lifting

A robo-adviser, in regulated markets, is an authorised firm providing automated advice under supervision. Here the term is applied to other app users whose trades you can copy.

The listing names no company, no jurisdiction and no regulator. It advertises backtesting, a Nifty straddle template, a portfolio dashboard, a wallet to recharge and a statistics screen — but publishes no verified performance for any strategy, and no record of what following one has historically returned. Users have settled at 3.1 stars.

Three questions before automating anything

When was it last updated? If the answer is more than a few months for software that touches live orders, stop there.

Who is the legal entity, and what happens to funds held in its wallet if it closes? And where is the published, independently verifiable record for the strategy you are being asked to follow? Absent all three, what is on offer is not automation of skill, only automation of exposure.

Our view: SpeedBot sells automated trading and holds user funds in a wallet, aimed at beginners, in software that has not been touched since February 2025 and names no company behind it. Do not connect it to live money.
